False shepherds will not protect their sheep.   Ultimately, they will not sacrifice their station, livelihood, or their very own life to protect the ones they are charged with protecting.  But Jesus said He was not only the Good Shepherd, caring for and taking care of His sheep, who know His voice, but he is also the doorway to the sheep pen whereby we come to Him for protection and enter outwardly for abundant life.
