Paul speaks about being content in whatever situation he found himself in.  This kind of joy (not happiness) is hard for us to imagine considering what we know he went through.   It is a place of being that requires a commitment.  The commitment is to walk daily with God.  Not lagging behind or too far ahead, but staying in step with Him, so the will He has for your life will be realized in His time, not ours.  No matter the trial, we must not forget, God’s with us and wants to bear our burdens.  But He can’t unless we give them to Him.
